Flamengo Boosts Security Ahead of Racing Clash

Ahead of the decisive match against Racing for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores semifinals, Flamengo deployed police around its hotel to prevent the 'Academy' fans from setting off fireworks. Drawing from the recent incident with Estudiantes de La Plata, where the 'Pincha' supporters interrupted the team's rest with pyrotechnics, the Brazilian club took extreme measures to ensure the tranquility of its squad in Buenos Aires. 'Mengao' stayed at Hudson once again, and this time, a high-level security operation was implemented, including a heavy police reinforcement and checks at all access points. Furthermore, a strict entry system was enforced at the complex, requiring document checks and prior authorization from the club for access. The result was positive, as the Flamengo squad managed to rest without any incidents and arrives with renewed energy for the match this Wednesday at 9:30 PM at the Cilindro de Avellaneda, holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. According to ESPN Brasil, the area was completely secured: patrol cars and police motorcycles permanently surrounded the hotel perimeter, which spans about 7.5 kilometers within a private neighborhood. This served as a warning that anyone attempting to set off fireworks in the area could be detained, which discouraged any attempts by Racing fans to cause disturbances.
